In response to the outrage of the Cornell 7 getting away with r@ping a fellow student, Dreamweaver Press is launching a new anthology call for writers around the world to take a stand against the injustice of r@pists constantly getting away with their crimes.
According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center:
“Nearly 1 in 5 women (18.3%) and 1 in 71 men (1.4%) in the United States have been r@ped at some time in their lives, including completed forced penetration, attempted forced penetration, or alcohol/drug facilitated completed penetration.”
“More than half (51.1%) of female victims of r@pe reported being r@ped by an intimate partner and 40.8% by an acquaintance; for male victims, more than half (52.4%) reported being r@ped by an acquaintance and 15.1% by a stranger.”
And….
“Most female victims of completed r@pe (79.6%) experienced their first r@pe before the age of 25; 42.2% experienced their first completed r@pe before the age of 18 years.”

We must continue to fight against this terrible crime committed against men and women. We must continue to speak out against r@pists walking free.
This call to write is just one way of speaking out. We at Dreamweaver Press are inviting writers to submit poetry, short stories, and essays about the fight against sexual violence, as well as measures taken to see that a r@pist faces consequences for their crime.
Your submission can be:
- A true experience of surviving r@pe (with names changed to protect privacy)
- A story about a r@pist facing consequences for their crime
- A poem written in response to the recent travesty of a punishment enacted against r@pists at Cornell University (which shall be forever tarnished and criticized for their cowardice)
Or, anything related to the topic of r@pe and/or a r@pist.
And while the creation of this anthology is in response to the outrage over the lack of appropriate measures being taken against the Cornell 7 who committed r@pe on campus, we welcome stories and narrative about r@pe that happens to men. Both men and women experience r@pe. Both children and adults experience r@pe. We need to stand up and speak out against this horrible crime and take steps to ensure that every r@pist faces consequences for their crime.
While Dreamweaver Press discourages sexual violence in their books, we relinquish that rule for the purpose of this anthology. However, please take note that when sexual violence happens in your work, the person committing the crime is punished in such a way that would satisfy the reader. That said, we will also allow extreme horror in this anthology. No slap on the wrist for any r@pist here!
Please note that because this subject is triggering for many survivors, we ask that any scenes of SA and SV not be graphic or detailed. You can have those things in your work, but we do not want to see them written out in explicit detail or in a way that seems it is for the purpose of entertainment.
Please limit your submission to one per topic and follow the Shunn manuscript format guidelines.
