Hi, everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the new season!
I have news regarding Jennifer as well as one of our anthologies.
The bad news is that Jennifer is still in the hospital. She has been there since December. The good news, though, is that she is beginning to see some improvement with the illness she has been battling these past few months. She is receiving quality care from the nurses and doctors, and she has undergone many medical procedures in their attempts to save her life and help her body to heal. She is beginning to get better and we are all hoping that will continue. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers that she will be fully recovered soon!
We really appreciate the patience of our authors, as well as those who have had work accepted by us for publication this year. We apologize for this delay in getting contracts sent out, royalties paid and your books published. Our new year is getting off to a late start but we assure all of you that nothing has changed. We are still very interested in reading your submissions and, to the authors whose work we have accepted, we still want to publish your work. Thank you for your patience during this difficult time!
Please be advised that while Jennifer is in the hospital, she is not answering emails related to the press. She is also not responding to DMs or other private messages. She is not on social media at this time. She is focusing on her health and trying to get better. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns! I respond to emails and I am still reading submissions. Everything else is still on hold.
As to the anthology, I am excited to announce that the Werewolf Wednesday anthology in our “Week of Terrors” anthology series is now full. Hooray! Thank you to everyone who has submitted! We have some great stories included in this book and I can’t wait to get started editing them.
A note to the writers who have stories in the Tuesday book (I have one in there, too!): This book is still scheduled for publication. Before Jennifer became ill, she was in the process of editing the stories. Once she is back at work, she will resume editing them, and we can move forward in getting this book published.
The only book left in this series that is still open to submissions is Slasher Saturday. Please feel free to send us your slasher stories! We have five spots left, so don’t delay! (And because Jennifer will have a short story in this anthology, I will be editing this one as well!)
And, finally, I will be having corrective eye surgery on Wednesday, April 1. I will not be at the desk during this time and I will also not be available to respond to emails or read submissions on the following Thursday and Friday. I will be back at the desk on Monday, April 6.
That’s it for now. Thank you for your patience and get well wishes for Jennifer. We value each and every one of you and please know that we will do our best to resolve any issues you are having in the best way we are able to. Thank you for trusting us with your work and staying with us during this time. It means the world to us and especially to Jennifer. Thank you!
