I’m baaaaack!!
After 151 days (but who’s counting?), I’m finally home from the hospital. Surviving two surgeries, multiple infections including sepsis that evolved into septic shock and an ICU stay definitely came with a price tag, and my new normal looks a lot different these days. With nerve damage leaving me unable to walk right now, a stomach feeding tube, and occasional brain fog, my body took a hit… but my determination to publish great books did not! Being immobile is one of my biggest challenges right now, but I am hoping that with time and hard work, I will get back on my feet. After a couple of weeks settling in, I’m incredibly excited to be back at work.
For starters, I would like to send a huge THANK YOU and a zillion hugs to my partner in crime… errr… business, our Executive Editor extraordinaire, Dawn Wilson! 😍
Since my hospital admission on December 21st, Dawn has been running the press, working her butt off for our little twisted publishing company, and staying in touch with our incredible authors. Dawn, I don’t know what Twisted Dreams Press would do without you. Don’t ever leave! You are amazing, my awesome friend! 🫂
To our fabulous authors, both established and newly accepted into our family, thank you for your patience, support, understanding, the many well-wishes Dawn has shared with me from so many of you, and for trusting our press with your work. It’s an absolute honor working with each and every one of you! ❤️
Now that I’m back, I will be working closely with Dawn to create a prioritized list of things I need to do ASAP. Once these have been completed, I’ll be working on the loads of other stuff waiting for me.
I wasn’t checking emails while in the hospital, so please bear with me as I go through my messages. I know that Dawn has resolved quite a few of your inquiries and requests, whereas others are waiting for me to handle. Because I’m the only one with administrative access to our financial, ordering, and backend publishing systems, those tasks had to wait. If you have an outstanding issue that requires me to work with you to come to a resolution, please rest assured that I will be in touch. 😊
Regarding contracts, once I’ve caught up on the high-priority issues, I will be reaching out to authors who have had their submissions accepted but have not yet received a formal contract. I’m so looking forward to working with each one of you, and welcome to the TDP family!
Since my internal organs are still staging their grand comeback tour, I will be working strictly limited, part-time hours for the next little bit. My heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys all need me to pace myself. The absolute last thing I want to do is take on too much too quickly and land my butt right back into the hospital. Health and my amazing family come first, and I appreciate your understanding and support regarding this.
That’s about it for now! I’m so happy to be back home and back with the press and all of our talented, amazing authors! I’ve missed you! 🥰
