This is a message from Dawn Wilson.

In 2025, I was approached by an author who had a new book which she was hoping to get published. Since her book did not fit the guidelines for Twisted Dreams Press, I suggested some other publishers who might be interested in it.

Her response? Nope, she only wanted to work with me.

I have helped her to get a couple of books published in the past, but I no longer felt comfortable doing this again without acting in an official capacity as her publisher. So I spent some time reflecting on this situation and trying to decide how I could help her out.

Then it hit me. I already work for a publishing company: Twisted Dreams Press. Why not ask the owner of this company, Jennifer Horgan, if I could create my own imprint to help authors out?

I dashed off a proposal to Jennifer and, after a brief meeting, it was approved.

The name of this imprint? Dreamweaver Press. Jennifer created the logo for this press and I think it’s fantastic!

At first, I figured that Dreamweaver would publish the works of a select group of authors – mainly, authors who were struggling to find a publisher and were not able to self-publish their books themselves. However, as time passed, I realized that these criteria needed to change. I later decided that Dreamweaver Press would publish books that didn’t fall within the scope of books published by Twisted Dreams Press as well as previously published books. (Note that Twisted Dreams Press does publish previously published books. However, the decision of which press to have a book published under is entirely up to the author.)

Then more time passed and I noticed quite a handful of independent publishers were closing their doors, leaving their authors with books that no longer had a home. Having been in this situation myself quite a few times, my heart went out to them all. But then I realized something: They could find a new home for their books at Dreamweaver Press! With the publication schedule for Twisted Dreams Press already full for this year (and filling up fast for 2027), I had an entire publication schedule that was open for submissions. Additionally, since Jennifer is currently still on medical leave, I was able to assist these authors right then and there in getting their books back into print.

So I worked with one of those publishers who shut down and let her know that she can invite her authors to submit to Dreamweaver Press. Additionally, all of the planned anthologies this publisher was going to publish are now anthologies that will be published by Dreamweaver Press.

But growth didn’t stop there. I realized that I needed to assemble a team in order to make this imprint work.

Fortunately, there were already people associated with Twisted Dreams Press who were ready to work with me through Dreamweaver Press to get books edited, covers designed, and manuscripts formatted.

I reached out to Abigail Griglach, who had designed my cover for the novel I’ll Be Ghosting You, and she agreed to create covers for Dreamweaver Press authors. (Note that both Twisted Dreams Press and Dreamweaver Press authors have the option to create their own covers, hire an independent cover designer, as well as submit their own covers for books previously published as long as they have permission to use that cover.)

I also enlisted the help of Tasha Reynolds, a Twisted Dreams Press team member, for editing manuscripts. (Before this, I edited one manuscript, but from now on, Tasha will be editing all Dreamweaver Press books and I will proofread them before the manuscripts are formatted for publication.)

We are currently looking for a female team member to assist us with formatting manuscripts. A potential candidate is currently being considered. Stay tuned!

That said, we will officially launch Dreamweaver Press at the beginning of June. Our first book will be Grandma Susie’s Riddles for Kids (and adults) by Suzan L. Wiener. We have many more books scheduled for publication, and we have been hard at work in preparing them all for release day!

I am still reading submissions for Twisted Dreams Press, as well as doing occasional promotion for our books already published. I am also managing our anthology submissions, and can’t wait to announce a new anthology call in the near future! (Currently, I am reading submissions for our Friday the 13th Summer Camp Horror anthology, as well as the Slasher Saturday book in the Week of Terrors anthology series. All of the other books are full!)

Meanwhile, Dreamweaver Press is now opening its doors to submissions from all authors worldwide. There are no longer limitations in place as to who will be published by Dreamweaver; all are welcome. No agent required, no previous publication experience needed, and first-time authors are encouraged to submit.

Please note that until Jennifer returns to work, a page for Dreamweaver Press cannot be created on the Twisted Dreams Press website. I do not have the ability to work on the website. I only have Jennifer’s approval of my proposal, but this should be sufficient to launch the imprint in her absence. I truly felt that she would be back at home by June, but unfortunately, time is moving faster than her ability to heal from her illness. As they say in show business, the show must go on!

Once Jennifer is back at work, she will be updating the Twisted Dreams Press website in due time. She will also be sending out contracts for all Twisted Dreams Press books, managing the royalties due to authors, updating covers and getting back on track with her editing duties. She will also add a page for Dreamweaver Press. To our Twisted Dreams Press authors: We appreciate your patience during this time.

And to any authors who are interested in having books published by Dreamweaver Press, send them to Dawn at DMCWriter(at)gmail(dot)com. Please send only Word files and put “Dreamweaver Press Submission: [Book Title]” in the subject line. I will respond to your submission after I have reviewed it.

Thank you, everyone! And please keep Jennifer in your thoughts!
